(Sterling Equipment Inc.; Cashman; Cashman Dredging; Cashman Equipment)
Cashman Dredging was started in the 1970's by Jay M. Cashman when he founded his first company performing heavy civil and marine contracting projects throughout the Northeast United States.
Notable work by the companies included reconstructing destroyed seawalls and jetties after the Blizzard of ’78 and developing a new marine facility in Martha’s Vineyard for the Steamship Authority and small dredging projects throughout New England.
Into the 1990's the company completed major, large-scale heavy civil and marine construction projects and dredging projects primarily using mechanical dredges.
