Built in 1966, by Allied Shipyard of LaRose, Louisiana (hull #113) as the Dad II.
In 1997, the tug was rebuilt at Fells Point of Baltimore, Maryland. She was later renamed as the Bunker Tide.
She was later acquired by the MBJ Corporation of Norfolk, Virgina where she was renamed as the Jenna B.
In 2006, the tug was acquired by K-Sea Transportation of East Brunswick, New Jersey where she was renamed as the Banda Sea.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by DonJon Marine of Hillside, New Jersey, where she was renamed as the Brian Nicolas.
She is a twin screw tug powered by a single Detroit Diesel 12-149 engine for a rated 1,350 horsepower.
Her towing machine is equipped with 1,800(ft) of 1.5(in) wire driven by a Detroit Diesel DD 3-71 engine.
