Built in 1980, by the Rayco Shipbuilders and Repair Company Incorporated of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #76) as the Sea Coast for the Dann Marine Towing Company of Chesapeake City, Maryland.

In 2023, the tug was acquired by Trinity Tugs LLC. of Galliano, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Sherena B. Cheramie.

Originally powered by two, Caterpillar 3412 diesel engines. With ZF TF4587 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.458:1. Turning two, four bladed, 63(in) by 76(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. For a rated 1,400 horsepower.

In 2014, the tug was repowered with two, Tier III compliant, six cylinder, Cummins QSK19-MS diesel engines. With Reintjes WAF374 reduction gears, at a ratio 6.417:1. Turning two, four bladed, 63(in) by 76(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,500 horsepower.

In 2021 she went under rebuilding at Main Iron Works in Bourg, Louisiana. Where the tug received extensive steel work, underwater gear, electronic and coatings.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW, Delco generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit Diesel 4-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 16,000 gallons of fuel oil, 400 gallons of lube oil, 150 gallons of waste oil, 5,000 gallons of water.

The towing gear consists of two, Nabrico 20-ton winches mounted on the bow. Outfitted with 110(ft) of 1(in) cable. And, a single drum, Markey TTC-18, towing winch. Outfitted with 1,000(ft) of 1-1/4 (in) towing wire.
