Built in 1974 by Carline Marine Towing at Donaldsonville, Louisiana as the Stella Carline for in-house use.

In 1979, the tug was acquired by the Knappton Towboat Company of Astoria, Oregon. Where she was renamed as the Oregon.

In 1984, she was acquired by Tidewater Barge Lines Incorporated of Portland, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Rebel.

The tug underwent modernization in 2008.

Her powerplant consists of two CAT 3512 diesels turning two propellors. For a rated 3,000 horsepower.
