Built in 1965, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #146) as the Dixie Warrior for Dixie Offshore Transport Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1990, the tug was acquired by the Dann Marine Towing Company of Chesapeake City, Maryland. Where she was renamed as the Sun Coast.

Powered by two, Caterpillar D-398 diesel engines. With Caterpillar 3192 reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.95:1. Turning two, four bladed, 80(in) by 44(in), fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers. For a rated 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 40kW Delco generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit Diesel 4-71 engines. Her capacities are 31,723 gallons of fuel oil, 10,000 gallons of water and 70 gallons of waste oil.
