Built in 2016, by Master Boat Builders Incorporated of Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (hull #453) as the Trident for SeaBulk Towing Services Incorporated of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A Rotortug designed by Naval Architect Robert Allen Limited of Vancouver, British Columbia. The Trident was the first Rotortug designed and constructed for a United States based company.
Powered by three, Tier III compliant, Caterpillar 3512C diesel engines. With three, Schottel SRP 1210 z drives. Two z drives drives are mounted forward, and one z drive is mounted aft. For a rated 5,730 horsepower.
The tug's electrical service is provided by two, 150kW, Caterpillar C7.1 generator sets. Her capacities 52,000 gallons of fuel, 865 gallons of oil, 865 gallons of gear oil, and 5,000 gallons of water.
The towing equipment on her bow, consists of a Jonrie Intertech 230 hawser, escort winch. Outfitted with 450(ft) of Samson 12 2-5/8(in) by 8(in) HMPE rope. On her stern, a Jonrie Intertech 500 double drum, hawser winch. Outfitted with 2,100(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire on one drum. And, 450(ft) of Saturn 12 2-5/8(in) line.
Her fire equipment consists of an FFS SFP 250 fire pump, driven by a PTO to the port main engine. Feeding one, forward mounted, FFS remote-controlled fire monitor, rated at 5,240 Gallons Per Minute.
