DIXIE VANDAL

Built in 1968, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #201) as the Dixie Vandal for Dixie Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 2018, the Kirby Corporation renamed the tug as the Vandal.

In 2019, she was acquired by IntraTug (the Intracoastal Tug and Barge Company) of Maurice, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Intra Rebel.

In 2021, IntraTug (the Intracoastal Tug and Barge Company) became part of the Intra Marine Group of Lafayette, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

Originally powered by two, Volvo D25 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.6:1, rated at 1,200 horsepower.

She was repowered with two, Mitsubishi S6R diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.6:1, turing two 58(in) by 59(in), fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat rated at 1,500 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 60kW, John Deere generator sets. The tug's capacities are 18,000 gallons of fuel, 200 gallons of lube oil, 100 gallons of hydraulic oil, and 2,000 gallons of potable water.
