THOR

Built in 1972, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #235) as the Thor for the Sabine Transportation Company of Port Arthur, Texas. A subsidy of the Chromalloy American Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1980, the Chromalloy American Corporation was acquired by the Sequa Corporation of New York. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1992, the former assets of the Sabine Transportation Company where acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2020, she was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Channelview, Texas.

In 2022, she was acquired by Albemarle Tug Company Incorporated of Moyock, North Carolina. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins K38-M II diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.6:1. She was a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,600 horsepower.
