Built in 1957, by Jakobson Shipyard Incorporated of Oyster Bay, New York (hull #368) as the Cynthia Moran for the Moran Towing Company of New York, New York.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by the Eastern Towboat Corporation of Charlestown, Massachusetts. Where she was renamed as the Cynthia Nicole.

She was a single screw tug, rated at 1,750 horsepower.
