Built in 1978, by Matton Shipyard of Cohes, New York (hull #343) as the Michael Turecamo for the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York.

In 1998, the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 12-645-E2 diesel engines. Turning two, cast steel, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW Delco generator sets driven by two Detroit Diesel 6N71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 38,833 gallons of fuel.
