BARRY SILVERTON

Built in 2016, by Conrad Shipyard Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana (hull #C-1080) as the Barry Silverton for Harley Marine Services Incorporated of Seattle, Washington.

Named for Barry Alexander Silverton, a Sydney, Australia native who diagnosed with A.L.S. Also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, at 61 years old. Mr. Silverton was managing director of his family business which was Australia’s largest high quality children’s fashion. He later began a second career as founder of his own company called Computer Applications. Mr. Silverton passed away from A.L.S. in 2012.

In 2019, Harley Marine Services Incorporated became the Centerline Logistics Corporation of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Tier III compliant, GE L250 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAF 1563 reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.746:1. Turning two, 116(in) pitch, by 110(in) diameter, four bladed, fixed pitch, stainless steel propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,070 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deere 6068TFM 363OSL1607 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 100,000 gallons of fuel, 7,390 gallons of water, and 975 gallons of lube oil.

The tug is outfitted with an Articouple FRC 55 coupler system.
