Built in 2002, by Washburn and Doughty of East Boothbay, Maine (hull #74) as the Gramma Lee T. Moran for the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut.
She was the eighth tractor tug built for Moran by Washburn and Doughty. Named in honor of Lee Tregurtha, wife of Moran's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Paul Tregurtha.
Powered by two EMD 12-645F7B main engines, each rated at 2,550 horsepower turning at 900 RPMs. Married with two Ulstein 1650H "z-drives". She produces a bollard pull of approximately 136,000 lbs. for a rated 5,100 horsepower and a service speed of 13.5 knots.
Her deck gear consists of a Markey electric hawser winch on her bow and a capstan on her stern. A Caterpillar 3406TA engine and an Aurora pump supplies two fire monitors with 3,000 gallons per minute of seawater at a minimum of 125 PSI.
The vessel is classed ABS Maltese Cross A1, Maltese Cross AMS, with notation Towing Service and Fire Fighting Capability.
