
Built in 1961, by Nolty J. Theriot Incorporated of Golden Meadow, Louisiana (hull #14) as the Gladys Bea for Nolty J. Theriot Offshore Incorporated of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
In 1973, the tug was acquired by Tidewater Dredge and Construction Company of Chicago, Illinois. Where she was renamed as the American Viking.
In 1975, she was acquired by the by the Bultema Dock and Dredge Company of Muskegon, Michigan. Where the retained her name.
In 1981, she was acquired by the Canonie Transportation Company of Muskegon, Michigan. Where the the tug was renamed as the Mari Beth Andrie.
In 1983, the Canonie Transportation Company became Andrie Incorporated of Muskegon, Michigan. Where the tug retained here name.
In 2005, the tug was acquired by the King Company of Holland, Michigan. Where she was renamed as the Matt Allen.
Powered by two Detroit Diesel 12V-149 diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,200 horsepower.
