
Built in 1956, by Gladding Hearn Shipbuilding Incorporated of Somerset, Massachusetts (hull #4) as the Dave White for the Perini Corporation of Boston, Massachusetts.
The tug was later acquired by the Boston Fuel Transportation Company of Boston, Massachusetts. A subsidy of the Reinauer Transportation Company of Staten Island, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Eastern Point II.
In 1985, the Boston Fuel Transportation Company acquired the Boston Towboat Company of Boston, Massachusetts. The transaction included its yard, its towboats and name.
The combined companies formed the Boston Towing and Transportation Companies. As a subsidiary of the Reinauer Transportation Companies of Staten Island, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Brian.
In 2011, Boston Towing and Transportation was reabsorbed into the Reinauer Transportation Companies of Staten Island, New York. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2020, the tug was phased out of service and was "laid up" at Boston Towing and Transportation's yard in East Boston, Massachusetts.
She is a single screw towboat, rated at 365 horsepower.
