Built in 2003, by A and B Industries Incorporated of Morgan City, Louisiana (hull #311) as the Caribbean Lady for the Bay and Ocean Towing Company of Belle Chasse, Louisiana.

In 2005, the tug was acquired by Odyssea Vessels Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

In 2014, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Crosby Hunter.

In 2021, the tug was acquired by the Vulcan Materials Company Incorporated of Birmingham, Alabama. Where she was renamed as the S. Martin Thorpe.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3406E diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 5161 reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service was provided by two, 55kW Cummins 6B 5.9G generator sets. The tug's capacities are 33,600 gallons of fuel oil, 450 gallons of lube oil, and 8,500 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consisted of a single drum, Smatco 48-DPS-100 towing winch. Outfitted with 2,400(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire.
