Built in 1970, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #232) as the Gulf Wind for Gulf Mississippi Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1978, Gulf Mississippi Marine Incorporated became Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1989, the tug was acquired by the Bisso Towboat Company Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Bill S.

In 2020, she was acquired by Midnight Marine Holdings Limited of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Where the tug retained her name.

She was a twin screw tug, outfitted with kort nozzles, rated at 4,200 horsepower. Her towing gear consisted of a double drum towing machine.
