Built in 1974, by Houma Shipbuilding Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #43) as the I.C. Hoskins for the Arthur Smith Corporation of Houston, Texas.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by Hollywood Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 1988, she was acquired by Ed Railey of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1989, the tug was acquired by the Channel Shipyard Company Incorporated of Highlands, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Brandy G.

In 1993, she was acquired by the Intracoastal Transport Company Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Miss Patsy.

In 1996, the tug was acquired Wood Creek Towing Incorporated of Baytown, Texas. Where she was renamed as Miss Laura.

In 1999, the tug was acquired by the Western Towing Company Incorporated of Channelview, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Appaloosa.

In 2004, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where retained her name.

In 1990, the tug was rebuilt by Lynchburg Shipyard Incorporated of Highlands, Texas. Powered by two, Volvo TAMD-122A diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
