Built in 1980, by V and M Iron Works of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #10) as the Alice Jean for Hollywood Marine of Houston, Texas.

In 1999, Holywood Marine Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2021, the tug was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Beaumont, Texas.

Powered by two, Detroit Diesel 60 series diesels engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. She was a twin screw towboat, rated at 960 horsepower.
