OCEAN RANGER

Built in 1990, by the Western Towboat Company Incorporated of Seattle, Washington (hull #7) as the Ocean Ranger for the Western Towboat Company of Seattle, Washington.

She was the sixth Mariner class tug built by the Western Towboat Company. The tug was a slightly modified design from that of her predecessors. The tug's hull is constructed of steel, with the pilot house, and superstructure constructed of aluminum.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516-B diesel engines. With Lufkin RLS reduction gears, at a ratio of 8:1. Turning two, 108(in) by 96(in) stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in Nautican kort nozzles, she is a twin screw tug, rated 4,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 55kW Caterpillar 3306 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 100,000 gallons of fuel, and 1.150 gallons of lube oil.

The towing gear consists of a single drum, Nordic towing winch. Outfitted 2,800 2.25(in) towing wire.
