Built in 1980, by Louis G. Ortis Boat Company Incorporated of Krotz Springs, Louisiana (hull #89) as the Papa Tom for Mire Marine Services Incorporated of Franklin, Louisiana.
In 1986, she was acquired by the Inland Marine Company of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Miss Bert.
In 2004, the tug was acquired by the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Delta Ram.
In 2011, the Delta Towing Company was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2013, she was acquired by the General Electric Company of Albany, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the HR Otter. And, the tug was rebuilt with a retractable wheelhouse.
In 2015, the tug was acquired by the Coeymans Marine Towing Company of Ravena, New York. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2016, the Coeymans Marine Towing Company renamed the tug as the CMT Otter.
In 2023, the company was rebranded as the Carver Marine Towing Company. Where the tug retained her name.
Powered by two, Cummins KTA-19 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.17:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
