Built in 1983, by Jakobson Shipyard Incorporated of Oyster Bay, New York (hull #467) as the Escort for Express Marine Incorporated of Camden, New Jersey.
In 2017, she was phased out of active service and "laid up" at Express Marine's yard in Camden, New Jersey.
In 2020, the tug was acquired by Northstar Marine Incorporated of Clermont, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Northstar Innovator.
In 2024, she was acquired by Express Marine Incorporated of Camden, New Jersey. Where the tug was renamed as the Escort.
In 2024, the tug was acquired LHG Logisticas Y Operaciones of Sao Tome, Sao Tome and Principe, Panama. Where she retained her name.
Powered by a single, Alco 12V-9X10 1/2-251E diesel engine. With a Reintjes WAV 2650 reduction gear, at a ratio of 4.941:1. Turning a single, cast steel, fixed pitch, propeller. Mounted in a kort nozzle, with a flanking rudder. She was a single screw tug, rated at 2,400 horsepower.
Her electrical service was provided by two, 75kW generator sets, driven by two Detroit Diesel 6-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities were 27,473 gallons of fuel.
