Built in 1981, by Sanchez Marine Services of Fall River, Massachusetts (hull #8006) as the Osprey for the Allied Transportation Company of Norfolk, Virginia.

In 2003, the tug was acquired by the Sirius Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington. A division of Hawaiian InterIsland Towing Incorporated of Honolulu, Hawaii. Where she was renamed as the Altair.

In 2006, the Sirius Maritime Company was acquired by the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2011, the the K-Sea Transportation Partnership Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2016, she was acquired by the Coos Bay Pilot Boat Company Incorporated of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where she retained her name.

In 2022, the tug was scrapped. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 3,600 horsepower.
