COLUMBIA BAY

Built in 1982, by McDermott Shipyard Incorporated of Amelia, Louisiana (hull #266) as the Amoco Columbia for the Amoco Shipping Company of Wilmington, Delaware.

In 1986, the tug was acquired by the BP Oil Shipping Company of Columbus, Ohio. Where she was renamed as the Columbia Bay.

The tug was outfitted with an INTERcon coupler system. Engineered by Ocean Tug and Barge Engineering of Milford, Massachusetts. She was "married" to a 170,000 bbl, 480(ft) barge the Florida Bay.

In 2007, the unit was acquired by the Allied Transportation Company of Norfolk, Virgina. Where she was renamed as the Osprey. Her barge the Florida Bay was acquired along with the tug. Where it was renamed as the ATC 25.

In 2012, the Allied Transportation Company was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug and the barge retained their names.

In 2019, the tug was scrapped, along with her barge.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645-ETB diesel engines. She was twin engine, with twin input, but a single output gear. Turning a single, controllable pitch propeller. Fitted in a Hannan Ring steerable kort nozzle. For a rated 5,600 horsepower.
