Built in 1982, by Patti Shipyard Incorporated of Pensacola, Florida (hull #109) as the American Eagle for Local Tugs Incorporated of Venice, Louisiana.
In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Aaron Joseph.
In 2021, she was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Houma, Louisiana.
In 2023, the tug was acquired by Marine Support LLC. of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Emmett Joseph.
Powered by two, GM 12V-71 diesel engines, with a 6:1 reduction. She was a twin screw tug, rated 1,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 12,000 gallons of fuel oil, and 12,000 gallons of potable water.
Her towing gear consisted of an Anchor handling towing winch. Driven by a dedicated, GM 4-71 diesel engine.
