Built in 1968, by Berg Shipyard Incorporated of Blaine, Washington (hull #143) as the Wasp for the Western Towboat Company Incorporated of Seattle, Washington.

Originally powered by a single, Caterpillar 343 diesel engine. The tug was later re powered with a single, Caterpillar 353 diesel engine.

She was then rebuilt, with a new wheelhouse. Reconfigured, and re powered with two, Built 3408 diesel 1968, by Shipyard Incorporated Blaine, (hull #143) the the Towboat Incorporated Seattle, Washington. 68(in) by
