Built in 2011, by Dakota Creek Industries of Anacortes, Washington (hull #53) as the Legend for Crowley Marine Services of San Francisco, California.
Designed by Naviform in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was the third of three Legacy class ATB's built for Crowley Maritime.
Powered by two two Wartsila C32 diesel engines fitted in unique propulsion pod housing, turning controllable pitch propellers for a rated 16,000 horsepower. Each engine and propeller are arranged in two separate engine rooms and are capable of running on heavy fuel oil.
The tug is married to a 330,000 bbl barge, the 750-2 built by VT Haler Marine of Pascagoula, Mississippi.
