Built in 1966, by Burton Shipyard Incorporated of Port Arthur, Texas (hull #409) as the El Zorro Grande for Tidewater Marine Services Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1990, the tug was acquired by Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Helen Turecamo.

In 1992, she was acquired by the Dunlap Towing Company of Everett, Washington. Where she was renamed as the Manfred Nystrom.

In 2016, the tug was acquired by Greger Pacific Marine Incorporated of Napa, California. Where she was renamed as the Pomaikai.

In 2024, she was rebuilt including the addition of an upper wheelhouse.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645 E2 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 3.5:1. Turning two, 106(in) by 86(in), fixed pitch, five bladed, stainless steel, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, Delco 60kW generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit 6-71 engines. The tug's capacities are 95,600 gallons of fuel oil, 1,200 gallons of hydraulic oil, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 4,800 gallons of potable water, with a 500 gallon per day watermaker.

The deck equipment consists of 4 Ton, HIAB Sea Crane. And a Pullmaster M-25 winch mounted on her bow.

Her towing equipment consists of an Almon Johnson towing winch. Outfitted with 2,500(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire on the primary drum, and 1,400(ft) of towing wire on the pennant drum. As well as three hydraulic, towing pins, with hold-down.
