Built in 1978, by Matton Shipyard Incorporated of Cohes, New York (hull #343) as the Michael Turecamo for the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York.
In 1998, the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2017, the tug was removed from active service.
She was powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 12-645-E2 diesel engines. Turning two, cast steel, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service was provided by two, 75kW Delco generator sets driven by two Detroit Diesel 6N71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities were 38,833 gallons of fuel.
