Built in 1975, by Burton Shipyard Incorporated of Port Arthur, Texas (hull #530) as the Elefante Grande for Tidewater Marine Services Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2009, the tug was acquired by Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Tarpon.

In 2015, she was scrapped at Morgan City, Louisiana.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645E6 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAV-2600 reduction gears. Turning two, four bladed, 115(in) by 90(in), fixed pitch propellers. She was a twin screw tug, rated 3,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two 100kW, generator sets. Driven by two, GM / DD 8V-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 129,600 gallons of fuel oil, 5,000 gallons of lube oil, 122,400 gallons of cargo water, and 12,300 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consisted of a double drum, INTERcon SBS 74077, towing winch. Outfitted with 5,000(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on each drum.
