Built in 1981, by Omni Fabricators Incorporated of Corpus Christi, Texas as the Lady Ann for Sun Marine Terminals Incorporated of Nerderland, Texas.

In 1991, the tug was acquired by Harvey Gulf International of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Harvey Explorer.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Explorer.

Powered by two, GM 16V-92 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided, by two 40kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 20,000 gallons of fuel oil, and 12,000 gallons of potable water.
