Built in 1978, by the Louis G. Ortis Boat Company Incorporated of Krotz Springs, Louisiana (hull #38) as the Terrymatt for Terry Matt Marine Incorporated of Cut Off, Louisiana.
In 1994, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Lauren Marie.
Powered by two, GM 12V-71 diesel engines. With a 6:1 reduction, turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, outfitted with flanking rudders. Rated at 1,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 12,000 gallons of fuel oil, and 2,500 gallons of potable water.
