Built in 2007, by NewSouth Marine Construction Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #105) as the Laura Rodgers for J. Russell Flowers Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi and was leased to Tennessee Marine L.P. of Memphis, Tennessee.

In 2008, the tug was leased to AEP River Operations LLC. of Chesterfield, Missouri. Where she retained her name.

In 2015, she was leased to American Commercial Barge Line LLC. of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2021, the tug was acquired by Maritime Partners LLC. of Metairie, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Capt. Doug Wright.

In 2021, American Commercial Barge Line LLC. of Jeffersonville, Indiana was contracted to operate the tug. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516B II diesel engines with Reintjes reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.955:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 3,300 horsepower.
