Built in 2001, by Sneed Shipbuilding Incorporated of Orange, Texas (hull #PB-313) as the Mr. Butch for Marine Rentals Incorporated of Orange, Texas.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by Blessey Marine Services Incorporated of Harahan, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Wayne L. Wood.

In 2013, she was acquired by the Canal Barge Company Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Midwest Pride.

Repowered in 2018, she is powered by two Cummins QSK-19M diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.04:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,320 horsepower.
