LYNN M. ROSE
Built in 2015, by VT Halter Marine Incorporated of Pascagoula, Mississippi (hull #2018) as the Kim M. Bouchard for the Bouchard Transportation Company of Melville, New York.
Named for the sister of Morton Bouchard III, the President, and Chief Executive Officer of Bouchard Transportation Company.
In 2021, she was acquired by Pennantia LLC. a subsidy of Contrarian Capital Management LLC. of Houston, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Lynn M. Rose.
In 2021, the Foss Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington was contracted to manage and operate the vessel. Where she retained her name.
In 2022, Rose Cay Maritime LLC. of Houston, Texas was contracted to manage and operate the vessel. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2025, after a legal dispute between Rose Cay LLC. and Pennantia LLC. Pennantia LLC. was prohibited from operating the units under the Rose Cay Maritime LLC. trademark and was ordered to remove the Rose Cay Maritime branding from the vessels.
Powered by two, Tier III compliant, EMD R20-710G7C-T3 diesel engines. With Lufkin RS4100HG reduction gears. Turning two, 148(in) by 178(in), Hung Shen, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in Nautican kort nozzles, and triple rudders. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 10,000 horsepower.
Outfitted with an INTERcon coupler system, with 64(in) diameter pins. Her coupler system features a lightering mode. Where in the rams are retracted to disengage the tooth connection, and rotated ninety degrees to allow access to bronze friction plates. The rams are then re-engaged. The friction plates allow the tug to move vertically within the barge ladders while maintaining longitudinal control.
The tug's electrical service is provided by three, 199kW Marathon generator sets. Her capacities are 301,504 gallons of fuel, 414 gallons of hydraulic oil, 2,702 gallons of lube oil, and 10,593 gallons of potable water.
