Built in 1979, by Terrebonne Shipbuildiers Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #17) as the Kathleen for Weeks Marine Incorporated of Cranford, New Jersey

In 2023, the tug was acquired by Dixie Towing LLC. of Jacksonville, Florida. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Tier II compliant, Cummins QSK 19-MCRS diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG-527 reduction gears. Turning two, 60(in) by 46(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,300 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 90kW generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit Diesel 6-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 15,000 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 3,000 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, Smatco 34, towing winch. Outfitted with 1,100(ft) of 1.25(in) towing wire. Driven by a single Detroit Diesel 3-71 diesel engine.
