Built in 1998, by Marine Inland Fabricators Incorporated of Panama City, Florida (hull #WB248MIF0698) as the Emma Jane for Corman Construction Incorporated of Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by Burrows Marine Incorporated of Webster, New York. Where she was renamed as the E.J. Coale.

In 2023, she was acquired by the Curtin Maritime Corporation of Long Beach, California. Where the tug was renamed as the Edna C.
