Built in 1930, by Marine Iron and Shipbuilding Incorporated of Duluth, Minnesota (hull #18) as the Galen for the Enmanco Corporation of Mount Clemens, Michigan.

The tug was later acquired by Dean Marine and Excavating Incorporated of Mount Clemens, Michigan. Where she was renamed as the Madison.

In 2001, she was phased out of active service. And was "laid up" at Mount Clemens, Michigan.

She was a single screw tug.
