SOUTHERN VENTURE

Built in 1967, by the Sermons Boat Yard of Tarpon Springs, Florida as the Southern Venture for George R. Walton of Cleveland, Ohio.

The tug was later acquired by Calvin Robinson of Corning, California. Where she was renamed as the Intrepid Venture.

In 1993, the tug was acquired by the Knutson Towboat Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where she was rebuilt, and renamed as the Koos Pilot.

In 1997, she was acquired by Sause Brothers Incorporated of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Kamaehu.

In 2014, the tug was acquired by the Knutson Towboat Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where she was renamed as the Centennial.

In 2019, she was acquired by the Coos Bay Towboat Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where she retained her name.

Repowered in 1993, and repowered again in 2004 with two Cummins KTA-30 diesel engines. With two, Schottel z-drives outfitted with 78(in) by 69(in) propellers. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 60kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 9,000 gallons of fuel, 400 gallons of water, and 150 gallons of lube oil.

The towing equipment consists of a Knutson diesel bow winch.
