Built in 1953, by Sewart Seacraft Incorporated of Berwick, Louisiana (hull #382) as the Peggy G. for Chester Guidroz of Morgan City, Louisiana.

In 1975, the tug was acquired by East Coast Tender Services Incorporated of Sea Bright, New Jersey. Where she was renamed as the Stephen R. II.

In 1989, she was acquired by the Tidewater Construction Corporation of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by the Skanska Group of New York, New York. Where she retained her name.

In 2007, she was acquired by Tidewater Construction Corporation of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Where she retained her name.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 600 horsepower.
