Built in 2007, by Portier Shipyard Incorporated of Chauvin, Louisiana (hull #159) as the Tag for Chalin Perez of Belle Chase, Louisiana.

In 2019, the tug was acquired by Intracoastal Marine Incorporated of Chesapeake, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the Ranger.

In 2021, the company was acquired by Dale Martin of Lafayette, Louisiana. Intercoastal Marine Incorporated became part of the Intra Marine Group of Lafayette, Louisiana. And is operated as a division of the Intra Marine Group.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA-19 diesel engines. With Teco reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,280 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 30kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 16,960 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 8,000 gallons of water.
