LAGUNA

Built in 1968 by Nichols and Downing Boat Works at Freeland, Washington (hull #T-2) as the Christy S for the Mirene Company of Portland, Oregon.

In 1970, the Mirene Company was acquired by the Knappton Towboat Company of Astoria, Oregon and operated as an independent subsidiary. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1984, the tug was leased to Brusco Tug and Barge of Longview, Washington. Where she retained her name. The tug was returned to the Knappton Towboat Company later in the same year.

In 1985, the Mirene Company was dissolved and the tug was transferred to the Knappton Towboat Company of Astoria, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Multnomah.

The tug was later acquired by the Eaton Tugboat Company of San Pedro, California. Where she was renamed as the Mormon Island.

In 1992, the tug was later by the Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Coos Bay, Oregon. Where she was renamed as the Laguna.

In 1998, she was acquired by West Coast Bridge Incorporated of Benicia, California. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2000, the tug was acquired by the Lucas Marine Construction Company of West Sacramento, California. Where she was renamed as the Betty R.

In 2004, she was transferred to Vortex Marine Construction of Oakland, California. Where the tug's name was reverted to Laguna.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
