Built in 1968, by the Martinolich Shipbuilding Company of Tacoma Washington as the Martha Foss for Foss Maritime of Seattle, Washington.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by RE Staite Engineering Incorporated of San Diego, California. Where she was renamed as the Katha C.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 1,620 horsepower.
