Built in 1977, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #321) as the Iver Foss for the Foss Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, Caterpillar D399 diesel engines. With Caterpillar 7271 reduction gears. Turning two, 92(in) by 70(in), four bladed, cast steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,400 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW, Detroit Diesel 6-71 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 71,326 gallons of fuel, 150 gallons of hydraulic oil, 1,050 gallons of lube oil, and 1,202 gallons of ballast.
