Built in 1984, by the Greenville Shipbuilding Company of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #69) as the Arctic Wolf for the Hamilton Marine Construction Company of Anchorage, Alaska.

In 2004, the tug was acquired by the Choctaw Transportation Company of Dyersburg, Tennessee. Where she was renamed as the C.B. Ford.

Powered by two, GM 12V-149TIB diesel engines. In 2011, the tug was repowered with two, Cummins KTA M38 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,400 horsepower.
