OSPREY (1981)

Built in 1981, by Sanchez Marine Services of Fall River, Massachusetts (hull #8006) as the Osprey for Allied Transportation of Norfolk, Virginia.

The tug was originally built to a John Leiby design; she is a twin screw tug rated at 3,600 horsepower.

The tug was later acquired Sirius Maritime a division of Hawaiian InterIsland Towing of Honolulu, Hawaii. Where she was renamed as the Altair.

In 2006, Sirius Maritime was acquired by K-Sea Transportation Partners of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2011, K-Sea Transportation was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
