Built in 1971, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull# 241) as the R. Paul Guidry for the American Offshore Fleet Company of Galliano, Louisiana.
In 1976, the tug was acquired by the Morrison Knudsen Company of Boise, Idaho. Where she was renamed as the Pat Powers.
In 1981, she was acquired by the Allied Transportation Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where the tug was renamed as the Sea Robin.
In 2012, the Allied Transportation Company was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2018, she was phased out of active service. And, she was "laid up" at Mariner's Harbor in Staten Island, New York.
In 2021, the tug was acquired by the Blaha Towing Company of Norfolk, Virginia. Where she was renamed as the April H.
Powered by two, twelve cylinder, Alco 12-251-C diesel engines, with Reintjes WAV 1651 reduction gears. Turning two 106(in) by 96(in), cast steel, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 60kW, Kato generator sets, driven by two, Detriot Diesel 4-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 48,500 gallons of fuel, 1,500 gallons of lube oil, 9,700 gallons of ballast, 2,000 gallons of potable water, and 4,600 gallons of wash water.
The towing equipment consists of a double drum towing winch, outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 2(in) towing wire on the primary drum and soft line on the secondary drum.
