MARY KAY ECKSTEIN

Built in 1982, by Jeffboat Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hull #81-2260) as the Seminole Chief for the Florida Barge Lines Corporation of New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2000, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Mary Kay Eckstein.

Powered by two, Tier III compliant, EMD-16-710G7C-T3 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.515:1. Turning two, Avdi, 118(in) by 115(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 8,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deer 6081, generator sets. The tug's capacities are 130,800 gallons of fuel, and 1,300 gallon of lube oil
