Built in 1972, by Jeffboat Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hull #2293) as the Wilbur Mills for American Commercial Lines Incorporated of Jeffersonville, Indiana.

In 2010, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Loree Eckstein.

In 2016, the Marquette Transportation Company renamed the tug as the Steven E. Bryan.

Powered by three, Tier II compliant, EMD-12-710G7C-T2 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.345:1. Turning three, 110(in) by 105(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a triple screw towboat, rated at 9,800 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, John Deere 6081 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 96,504 gallons of fuel, and 2,560 gallons of lube oil.
