Built in 2000, by Rodriguez Boatbuilders Incorporated of Coden, Alabama (hull #202) as the Emily C. Cheramie for A.T. Cheramie Incorporated of New Orelans, Louisiana.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by the Marquette Transportation Company of Jefferson, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Miss Emily.
Powered by three, Caterpillar 3412 D diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG5202 reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. Turning two, 72(in) by 79(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a triple screw tug, rated at 3,600 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 45kW, Caterpillar generator sets. The tug's capacities are 50,000 gallons of fuel, 220 gallons of lube oil, and 10,000 gallons of potable water.
The towing equipment consists of a SMATCO 60, double drum, waterfall, towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire.
