KAPENA GEORGE PANUI

Built in 2018, by Conrad Shipyard of Morgan City, Louisiana (hull# C-1162) as the Kapena George Panui for Young Brothers Incorporated of Honolulu, Hawaii. A subsidiary of Foss Marine Holdings of Seattle, Washington.

The tug is a Damen Stan 3711 design, she was the third Kapena class tug for Young Brothers Incorporated. The Kapena class, or Captain class, is named for the Hawaiian word for "Captain," and naming each of the four tugs in the class after former Captains.

Powered by two, Tier IV compliant, General Electric 8L250MDC diesel engines. With Reintjes WAF3455 reduction gears. At a ratio of 5.524:1, turning two, four-bladed 126(in) fixed pitch propellers. Mounted in Kort nozzles, for a rated 6,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by three, 118kW Cat C7.1 generator sets. The tug's capacities are 83,6000 gallons of fuel, 2,050 gallons of lube oil, and 4,150 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a Markey WESD-16-16-12 winch with 300(ft) of 5(in) synthetic line on the bow. And a Markey double drum TESD-34 winch with 2,500(ft) of 2.25(in) wire on the stern.
